The third story expansion for The Witcher 3, A Ballad of Old Times, is scheduled to launch sometime next year. Its scale and content volume will be comparable to the game's previous two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. The expansion is currently planned for a 2027 release, having been originally slated for 2026.
Many questions remain regarding A Ballad of Old Times, with one of the most pressing being how its story will connect to The Witcher 4, where Ciri replaces Geralt as the protagonist. CDPR has recently confirmed that the target release window for The Witcher 4 is 2028.
