Battlefield Hazard Zone Announces New Fast-Paced Battle Royale Mode, Introduces Proximity Voice Chat, Adds Cash Cups, Public Series, and Elite Tournament Returns

《战地风云》禁区冲突公布全新急速大逃杀模式、引入近距离语音聊天、加入现金杯、公开系列赛以及精英赛事回

Today, Battlefield Hazard Zone announced a series of updates coming in September, including the return of Cash Cups, the Open Series, and the Elite Series, along with the new Rapid Battle Royale mode and the introduction of proximity voice chat.

New Mode Revealed - Rapid Battle Royale

Rapid Battle Royale arrives in Season 5 as a new Battle Royale variant designed to deliver faster-paced matches, more frequent engagements, and less time spent looting. Building on the Hazard Zone Battle Royale mode, Rapid Battle Royale accelerates the pace by reducing the number of players, shrinking the playable area, increasing the speed of the fire circle, and shortening match duration. Whether players want to jump into combat faster or experience Battle Royale in a different way, Rapid Battle Royale offers a fresh and innovative entry point into Battlefield Hazard Zone.

Proximity Voice Chat Launches on September 15

Starting September 15, with the launch of the first version of proximity voice chat, players will be able to hear more from nearby squads, initially available in Battle Royale mode. Proximity voice chat creates new opportunities for unexpected encounters and player-driven moments that can completely change the outcome of a match.

As always, the Battlefield studio is eager to hear player feedback after the initial launch of proximity voice chat, and will directly collect player input to evaluate audio range, clarity, management tools, and the feature's overall impact on gameplay before considering further expansion.

Battlefield Hazard Zone Season 4 Cash Cup

The Battlefield Hazard Zone Cash Cup will kick off the Season 4 tournament schedule on September 19 and run until October 10. These weekly tournaments invite squads to compete in Battle Royale, taking the first step toward formal competitive play before the return of the Open and Elite Series. Teams across Asia-Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and the Americas will compete for a total prize pool of $150,000, evenly distributed among the three regions. As the competition progresses, the prize pool will continue to grow leading into Season 5 and the return of major competitive events.

Open Series: The Road to the Elite Series

The Battlefield Hazard Zone Open Series is designed as a starting point and proving ground for players aiming to break into the Elite Series. It provides squads in Asia-Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and the Americas with the opportunity to showcase their skills in tournaments and earn spots in the Elite Series. The Open Series will run from October 24 to November 21, featuring three Open Series events, each lasting two days. Each event allows up to 384 teams per region to participate through multiple rounds of Battle Royale matches. Teams compete in lobbies of 24 squads, with the top 12 advancing each round until the strongest squads emerge.

Elite Series Returns in Season 5 with Over $1.3 Million in Prizes

The Elite Series represents the highest level of competitive play in Battlefield Hazard Zone. It brings together the top squads in Hazard Zone, including returning teams from the inaugural Elite Series and new challengers who qualify through the Open Series. This season, the Elite Series offers a global prize pool of $1,338,000, with $446,000 allocated to each region: Asia-Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and the Americas. Season 5 will run from December 4, 2026, to January 16, 2027, and will introduce several changes designed to create a more focused competitive experience.
