According to August sales data from German retailer Mindfactory, AMD graphics card sales significantly outpaced NVIDIA, with RDNA 4 architecture cards performing particularly impressively.Mindfactory is one of Germany's largest online retailers for PC hardware, and its sales data reflects consumer preferences in the DIY hardware market in Germany and even across Europe.
Overall, Mindfactory sold a total of 2,810 graphics cards in August, with AMD accounting for 1,570 units (55.87%), NVIDIA for 1,110 units (39.50%), and Intel for 130 units (4.63%). AMD not only captured more than half the market but also outsold NVIDIA by 460 units.
However, NVIDIA still holds a slight lead in revenue. Thanks to higher average selling prices, NVIDIA's 1,110 graphics cards generated approximately €993,000 (49.95%) in revenue, while AMD's 1,570 graphics cards brought in about €941,000 (47.34%). Despite selling over 450 more units, AMD lagged behind in revenue, clearly illustrating the significant pricing gap between the two brands.
In terms of individual model sales, the RX 9070 XT sold 870 units, accounting for 31% of total sales, while the RX 9060 XT sold 600 units, making up 21.4%. Together, these two models accounted for more than half of total sales.
NVIDIA's best-selling model was the RTX 5070 Ti with 270 units (9.6%), ranking third overall. It was followed by the RTX 5060 Ti with 250 units, the RTX 5080 with 240 units, and the RTX 5070 with 190 units.
The flagship RTX 5090, priced at around €5,000 (approximately ¥39,000), sold only 10 units throughout the month. The recently reintroduced RTX 3060 12GB version also sold just 10 units.
In terms of architecture distribution, RDNA 4 accounted for 1,550 units (55.2%), Blackwell for 1,039 units (37.0%). The previous-generation Ada Lovelace has basically exited the sales charts, but the Ampere architecture still saw 71 units sold (entry-level RTX 3050 and 3060 models).
Regarding VRAM, graphics cards with 16GB or more accounted for 75.8% of sales, while those with 12GB or less made up only 24.2%, indicating that large VRAM has become the mainstream choice.
The top three best-selling specific models were the PowerColor RX 9070 XT Reaper 16GB (140 units), the Sapphire RX 9060 XT Pulse 16GB (140 units), and the MSI RTX 5060 Ti Ventus 2X OC Plus 8GB (130 units).
