This is a vertical scrolling bullet hell shooter where players control either the shrine maiden Reimu or the magician Marisa, investigating and resolving incidents while dodging dense barrages of bullets.
Furthermore, the game adds a new mode that allows players to challenge stages with infinite lives, lowering the barrier to entry and making it easier for players to enjoy the game.
As a new feature in "Shin-ten," the game also includes a "Spell Practice Mode" not present in the original "Touhou Koumakyou," allowing players to repeatedly practice against enemies they find difficult.
Additionally, the game includes an "Original Classic Version" that faithfully recreates the 2002 original experience, which players can switch to at any time.
