Asha Sharma said, "Creators have the right to choose where and how to realize their visions. We are honored that Mr. Kojima has chosen Xbox and Kojima Productions to move PHYSINT forward together. His ambition to challenge conventions is exactly the kind of creativity Xbox wants to support."

Hideo Kojima stated, "This expands our partnership beyond OD. As development of PHYSINT progresses, we will continue our commitment to redefining the action espionage genre for players worldwide."

The collaboration between the two parties will also extend beyond games, with Xbox and Kojima Productions partnering in the film and television sectors to bring new stories to a wider audience.

Hideo Kojima revealed on social media that in mid-June, Kojima Productions unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that the PHYSINT project would be canceled. He stated that PHYSINT is an important project for both him personally and the studio. To save the project, the team spent the past three months searching for new partners. During consultations and negotiations with various parties, they found that Xbox shared their vision for the future, leading to the decision to join forces once again. Hideo Kojima emphasized that development of PHYSINT continues to move forward, and this genre-defining action espionage title will not be interrupted.
