Today (September 10), Apple officially released the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. As Apple's two high-end flagship slab phones this year, the iPhone 18 Pro series focuses on upgrades in design, performance, imaging, and battery life.
The iPhone 18 Pro series comes in four color options: classic Black and Silver, plus two new colors, Glacier Blue and Burgundy Red. In terms of screens, the iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max uses a 6.9-inch screen.
The overall design language of the two new devices continues from the previous generation, However, the Dynamic Island area has been further reduced, minimizing the impact of the front cutout on screen display while retaining existing interaction methods.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 18 Pro series debuts the A20 Pro chip, built on a 2nm process.
The A20 Pro features a 6-core CPU, including 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, with the performance cores offering up to a 20% improvement over the previous generation; the GPU has been upgraded to a 7-core design, delivering up to a 40% performance boost.
In terms of AI computing power, The A20 Pro is equipped with two sets of Neural Engines, totaling 32 cores, and adds a next-generation Neural Accelerator, doubling the 8-bit floating-point operation speed and increasing memory bandwidth by 50%.
To further unleash the A20 Pro's performance, the iPhone 18 Pro series is also equipped with a new VC vapor chamber. Thanks to upgrades in the chip and cooling system, the sustained performance of the iPhone 18 Pro series has increased by 40% compared to the previous generation, and doubled compared to the iPhone 16 Pro series.
Imaging is also one of the key upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro series this time. The new device features a 48MP fused main camera with a variable aperture for the first time, using a six-blade design that supports four aperture settings., allowing adjustment of light intake based on different shooting environments, further improving performance in low-light, backlit, and portrait scenarios.
