Recently, Marvelous released a new gameplay demo for the Japanese-style action RPG "Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Kaidan," and announced that the game will launch on PC, Steam, NS1, and NS2 platforms on February 4, 2027. This marks the first time a Vanillaware title has launched on Steam, with support for both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Additionally, the physical edition pricing for "Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Kaidan" has been announced. The standard editions for Switch, Switch 2, and PS5 are priced at 6,578 yen (approximately 286 RMB), while the limited edition is priced at 8,778 yen (approximately 381 RMB). The limited edition includes a special art book and a custom box.
"Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Kaidan" is the complete enhanced edition of "Muramasa: The Demon Blade," fully including the original main story and all four DLC chapters from "Genroku Kaidan." It features six playable characters: Kisuke, Momohime, Yuzuriha, Kon-Kiku, Oren, and Rashouki, telling six interconnected yet independent Japanese supernatural stories set in the Genroku era. Combat retains the series' signature swordplay mechanics and the Spirit Gauge system, where normal attacks restore spirit. Even if a weapon's durability breaks, sheathing it will automatically repair it, eliminating the need to frequently return to town for repairs. Each of the six protagonists has unique combat mechanics: Oren can switch between human and demon cat forms. Rashouki has two combat stances, child and adult. Every character can master various special techniques and combine them with hundreds of demonic swords to create different combat styles. The controls are accessible, allowing both new and veteran players to experience smooth sword combos.
In addition to the main combat, the game features plenty of casual interactive content. Players can soak in hot springs to restore HP, cook dishes to gain buffs, and encounter yokai attacks such as Umibozu while sailing at sea. A new Memory Mode allows players to revisit all unlocked story cutscenes at any time, making it easy to review each character's story. The visuals have been fully remastered in HD, with the PC version supporting 4K resolution, continuing Vanillaware's signature ukiyo-e hand-drawn art style.
