Sony's decision to drop Hideo Kojima's new spy action game, Physint, continues to generate widespread reactions. This time, even former PlayStation president Shuhei Yoshida has expressed surprise.
Just hours after confirming that Xbox would be handling the publishing, Yoshida posted a brief message on social media platform X, which roughly translates to: "Wow, I'm shocked..." Later, when directly asked about Physint, the industry veteran confirmed that this was indeed what he was referring to.
Given Yoshida's career history, his reaction is particularly noteworthy. He joined the original PlayStation development team back in 1993 and spent 31 years at Sony Interactive Entertainment, holding several key positions, most notably as President of Worldwide Studios and later as Head of Independent Game Initiatives. Yoshida left the company in January 2025.
