The AMD Ryzen 5 5500F outperforms the Ryzen 5 5500 in a set of early game tests, with a maximum performance gap of 16%. However, current results are based on only one test platform, which is insufficient for a final verdict on the two processors.
YouTube channel RandomGaminginHD built a test platform using an RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card and tested seven games at 1080p resolution. The Ryzen 5 5500F is priced at $99, roughly equivalent to the non-F model, and both processors have the same number of cores.
In titles where CPU performance has a greater impact, the Ryzen 5 5500F shows a clear advantage. The largest gap is seen in Battlefield 6 at 16%; it leads by 11% in Cyberpunk 2077, 9% in GTA V Enhanced, and 8% in Counter-Strike 2.
When the gaming load shifts more toward the GPU, the performance gap between the two processors narrows. The lead in Red Desert and Red Dead Redemption 2 drops to single digits; once the RX 9060 XT becomes the performance bottleneck, the difference may disappear entirely.
These data currently reflect performance on a single test system only. Whether the Ryzen 5 5500F can maintain its lead consistently, and whether different graphics cards and configurations will change the results, remains to be confirmed by further testing samples.
