tinyBuild has announced that Deep Space Pawnshop: Probably Stolen, a cyberpunk pawnshop management simulation developed by Questing Goose Studio, will launch on Steam on October 29 (Japan time).
Set in a massive space station divided by wealth and corruption, the game tasks players with running a pawnshop in the station's underbelly. Earn money by crafting, trading, and smuggling goods of dubious origin, while maintaining relationships with various factions.
Customers visiting your shop have their own agendas, including police officers gathering evidence, revolutionaries seeking crucial leverage, fallen elites trying to prove their worth, and humans controlled by rogue AI. Players can accept or decline trades, or choose to report individuals to the authorities, with each decision affecting their reputation.
Appraisal skills are essential for determining item value, and some goods require specialized processing. Players may need to inspect cigarettes, filter drinking water, modify weapons, or forge permits, while managing machines and production lines to create valuable items.
During operations, players must attract suitable customers, balance supply and demand, and engage in bargaining. Additional activities include selling water, running plant factories, and trading organs. Obtaining higher-level permits allows access to the black market and unlocks special trades through managing faction relationships.
The game also allows players to sell counterfeit goods to wealthy customers, or choose between exploiting the vulnerable and offering assistance. Stealing and smuggling items requires evading authorities, and even if arrested, players may still attempt to bribe their way out. The title is currently scheduled for release on Steam on October 29.
