After canceling "Spider-Noir," Amazon has not stopped pushing forward with Spider-Man themed series. Reports suggest that four related projects are currently in development, with Amazon hoping to ultimately greenlight two of them.
Amazon and Sony announced this multi-series partnership in 2022, aiming to develop shows based on Sony's Marvel characters. The initial plan was to launch with "Silk: Spider Society," focusing on Korean-American superhero Cindy Moon, but the series was canceled before entering production.
"Spider-Noir" subsequently premiered in 2026, but its first season was canceled after only a few months. The series remains available on Prime Video, offering both black-and-white and color versions.
The four projects currently in development involve American Born Chinese creator Kelvin Yu; Better Call Saul and Shareholder co-writer Alison Tatlock; Tracker and Legion producer Ben H. Winters; as well as For All Mankind creators Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert. Nedivi and Wolpert will also collaborate with WandaVision and The Marvels writer Megan McDonnell.
Reports indicate that one of the projects is close to receiving a full-season order, though it has not been specified which one. The Spider-Man heroes or villains featured in the four series also remain under wraps.
Under the current agreement, Amazon has access to over 900 Marvel characters from Sony's Spider-Man universe. Four projects are currently in development, but Amazon has not yet officially announced which series have been greenlit or their character lineups.
