IO Interactive announced that the Switch 2 version of "007 First Light" has been delayed until March 2027, with the exact release date to be announced later. This version was previously scheduled for a summer 2026 launch.
IO Interactive stated that the decision to delay was made to ensure the Switch 2 version meets the quality expectations of players. The additional development time will be used to further polish the game's performance on the Switch 2.
The PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions of "007 First Light" were released on May 27, with the PC version available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Switch 2 version was originally slated for a simultaneous launch, but was first pushed back to summer 2026 and has now been delayed again.
The developers also mentioned that they received positive feedback after showcasing playable demos at Gamescom, and overall development continues to progress. Playable content from the same build will also be available for attendees at this week's Tokyo Game Show.
Currently, IO Interactive has not revealed the specific release date in March 2027 for the Switch 2 version; further details will be announced in due course.
