Overflow has officially announced the 20th-anniversary remake of Summer Days, a spin-off in the School Days series. The game is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, with pre-orders opening on September 25 for PC. This marks the second title in the Days series to receive a high-definition return, following the School Days remake released in late 2025.

The original Summer Days was released in 2006 as an adult-oriented romantic adventure game. The story takes place during the summer before the events of the main School Days storyline. Makoto Itou remains the protagonist, but the focus shifts to Setsuna Kiyoura, presenting an alternate summer romance narrative. The original release was plagued by numerous bugs, which were only resolved after many patches. In 2012, an enhanced version titled Shiny Days was released, adding a complete personal route for the shrine maiden character Inori Ashikaga and upgrading the graphics engine, becoming the definitive edition of the game.

The key visual for this remake features both Setsuna Kiyoura and Inori Ashikaga, with the developers hinting that this is not a simple port of the original 2006 release. The remake will fully incorporate the new storylines from Shiny Days, integrating the narratives of both generations into the main game. JAST USA, the overseas publishing partner, will handle the English release, and the developers have also revealed that a Chinese version will be launched.

The developers have not yet disclosed details regarding graphical improvements, system enhancements, or new content for the Summer Days remake. More information will be released gradually in the future.
