Sega has announced that Bayonetta will join Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as the first free update character of Year 2. In addition to the playable character, this update will include an exclusive vehicle and related interactive content.
The Bayonetta update will feature the playable character Bayonetta, along with a vehicle called the "Butterfly Witch." Players can also use special emotes and sound effects associated with the character in-game.
The Bayonetta trailer released alongside it also showcased previously announced DLC for "Godzilla" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion," featuring more actual gameplay footage.
The "Godzilla" content pack includes a new track, "Godzilla Escape," and adds three vehicles: the "Godzilla Cruiser," "King Ghidorah Coupe," and "Mothra Surfboard."
The "Neon Genesis Evangelion" content pack will bring the "Third New Tokyo City" track, as well as vehicles based on EVA Unit-01, EVA Unit-00, and EVA Unit-02. Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu will also appear as playable characters.
Sega plans to reveal more details about the Year 2 lineup during the World Championship Grand Finals and the Year 2 Content Showcase livestream on October 9. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, with the PC version offered via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
