Marvel's Wolverine officially launched on PS5 on September 15. In response to recent criticism surrounding the game's guidance design, developer Insomniac Games stated that they have listened to feedback and are preparing relevant updates.
James Stevenson, Community and Marketing Director at Insomniac Games, stated on the social platform X that the team has been carefully listening to opinions over the past few days and has already started working based on some of the feedback. He also confirmed that future updates for the game are planned, but did not disclose specific details or release dates.
Stevenson made a joke about "smells in the kitchen" during his statement. This phrasing was interpreted as hinting that the scent trail feature might be a key area for adjustment, though the development team has not officially confirmed specific changes.
Scent trails are used to represent Wolverine's keen sense of smell. The game provides visual cues indicating the direction of target scents, allowing players to track them along the path. The main criticisms of this design focus on its high frequency and overly direct hints.
What is certain is that Insomniac Games has begun taking action on some of the feedback. Marvel's Wolverine is now available on PS5, but whether scent trails will include an on/off toggle, reduced frequency, or other adjustments remains to be announced by the development team.
