Google has confirmed that pre-orders for the first batch of Googlebook laptops will open on September 21 at 9:00 AM ET. The official Googlebook website now lists this date, and users who signed up for product updates have received confirmation emails.
This marks the first time Google has provided a clear product timeline since announcing in May that Googlebooks would launch this fall. Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will be the first Googlebook manufacturers, with several related devices already leaking ahead of the official release.
The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is currently the most heavily leaked model. Reports suggest it may feature an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 "Panther Lake" processor, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Google's colorful Glowbar light strip.
The Core Ultra 5 325 has also appeared multiple times in leaked Acer and ASUS models. Unlike Chromebooks, which typically debut with entry-level Intel processors, current information suggests that Googlebooks may have a different hardware positioning.
Google has not yet announced which specific models will be available for pre-order on September 21, nor has it confirmed shipping dates. Currently, the company only states that Googlebook devices will be available this fall.
