New players in "Imo" must choose between Sunflare Lion and Moonlight Fox as their starting partner, representing melee and ranged playstyles respectively. Currently, each account can only obtain one of them, and once chosen, the other cannot be captured in the game world for the time being.
The game is now available on consoles and PC, featuring the Aidel map. Before entering the free exploration phase, players must complete an approximately one-hour tutorial to learn the basics and choose their first Imo partner during this period.
Sunflare Lion is a small lion adept at close-quarters combat, ideal for players who like to get up close and deal damage. After activating its Ultimate ability, it transforms into a larger lion, capable of inflicting massive damage on enemies for a short duration.
Moonlight Fox is a Moon Fox, primarily designed for players who prefer long-range combat, offering a more relaxed battle pace. It can also transform via its Ultimate ability, boosting its offensive power for the remainder of the battle.
Both partners are fairly balanced in overall strength, so the choice mainly depends on the player's preferred combat style. Since the starting partner will accompany you for a significant portion of your journey, character appearance can also serve as a deciding factor.
The developers have confirmed that Sunflare Lion and Moonlight Fox cannot both be added to the same account's monster collection at present, nor can the unchosen one be captured on the map. They may become tradable in the future through a trading feature, but no release date for this function has been announced yet.
