FuturLab announced that it will release a Barbie-themed DLC for PowerWash Simulator 2. This expansion includes five cleaning levels and is scheduled to launch later this year, with an official trailer released simultaneously.
Five levels will feature different Barbie-themed settings, including the Barbie Dream Camper and the Barbie Dreamhouse. Players need to use high-pressure water jets to clean dirt from various parts of the scenes, and can also equip Barbie-themed pressure washers and character outfits.
This DLC recreates the visual characteristics of Barbie toys with vibrant colors, embossed plastic, smooth surfaces, and decorative details, while also incorporating nods to related toy sets within the environments. Players can complete cleaning tasks solo or cooperate with friends.
Kirsty Rigden, CEO of FuturLab, stated that Barbie may represent childhood toy memories for some, or symbolize color, creativity, and imagination for others. The development team has combined the world of Barbie with the game's existing high-pressure cleaning mechanics.
Erika Winterholler, Head of Licensed Games at Mattel, stated that this collaboration aims to present the imaginative space represented by Barbie through new interactive methods, allowing players to experience the brand within the cleaning gameplay. Currently, officials have only confirmed that the Barbie DLC will be released later this year, without announcing a specific launch date.
