Recently, Capcom unveiled a new trailer for the major "Monster Hunter Wilds" DLC, "Soaring Beyond," at their presentation, confirming the addition of Teostra. The DLC is scheduled for release in 2027 and requires ownership of the base game to play.

At TGS 2026, the DLC will offer its first-ever offline demo globally, allowing players to directly challenge Teostra and the new monster Araketa. Meanwhile, the publisher is releasing a prologue demo with save data transfer capabilities, letting players experience some of the DLC mechanics early. The Switch 2 version will launch simultaneously with the "Soaring Beyond" DLC and supports cross-platform multiplayer across all platforms.
The story of the "Monster Hunter Wilds" DLC "Soaring Beyond" takes place several years after the base game's ending, moving the stage to the Eastern Continent. It adds new open-world maps such as the Roundkeep Fortress and the Cloudrest Ruins, with the fortress also serving as the new Gathering Hub. The narrative will revolve around the threat of Lao-Shan Lung, featuring multiple new and returning Elder Dragons. The classic Elder Dragon Teostra has been officially confirmed to appear, while Kushala Daora and Lao-Shan Lung will also feature in the DLC. Additionally, it includes brand-new original monsters: the Thunder Dragon and Araketa.
The DLC will unlock the Master Rank quest system and introduce the core combat mechanic of this expansion: the Amplification Bracers. By attacking, you build up energy; once released, you enter an Amplified State, adding exclusive enhanced moves and combos to all 14 weapons, with upgraded action logic for each weapon. The developers have already released demos for weapons such as the Long Sword, Great Sword, Insect Glaive, Charge Blade, and Hunting Horn, showcasing flashy move animations and a faster-paced combat rhythm.
