Brad Pitt recently shared an amusing anecdote about being mistaken for someone else. A delivery driver recognized his face but couldn't remember where he had seen him, so Pitt jokingly claimed to be Matt Damon, and the driver believed him.
While promoting his new film The Beast Heart in Colorado, USA, Pitt shared this experience with the audience at an early screening. He mentioned that a Postmates delivery driver had previously found him familiar but couldn't quite place his identity.
Instead of explaining who he was, Pitt joked that he was Matt Damon. The delivery driver fully accepted this answer, replying that he had suspected as much all along.
The two first collaborated in the 2001 film Ocean's Eleven and have remained friends over the years, often joking about being mistaken for each other. During the July 2026 World Cup final, a Fox Sports commentator briefly misidentified Damon as Pitt when the camera panned to him in the stands, before correcting the mistake.
Both Pitt and Damon are Oscar winners. Pitt won Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, while Damon shared the Best Original Screenplay award with Ben Affleck for Good Will Hunting.
Pitt is currently promoting The Beast Heart, directed by David Ayer. The film follows former Army Special Forces officer James Belmont and his military Dog.exe Odin, who become stranded in a remote part of Alaska after a plane crash and must survive in the wilderness.
This marks Pitt's second collaboration with Ayer since the 2014 war film Fury. In addition to starring, Pitt also serves as one of the film's producers, with J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe in major roles. The Beast Heart is scheduled for theatrical release on September 25, 2026.
