Dragami Games and Nada Holdings have announced a new PS5 title, Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back, developed by JP Universe and scheduled for release in 2027. A playable demo will also be available at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back is a brand-new entry in the Lollipop Chainsaw series. Juliet, the protagonist of the first game, will don a new outfit and return to the rebuilt San Romero, which has now transformed into "Jaredwood," a major metropolis centered around the film industry.
In the story, a mysterious director traps Juliet in a twisted zombie movie of his own creation. Juliet must fight alongside her partners, investigate the conspiracy behind the chaos, and stop the new threat of zombies from the "Corrupted Realm."
The development team includes Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV. Masahiro Yuki, who co-produced and wrote the script for the original Lollipop Chainsaw, and NekoshowguN, who designed the concept art for the main characters in the original, will also be involved in this title.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be held from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, where Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back will be available for hands-on demos. The official statement indicates that more information will be revealed leading up to the game's release.
To coincide with the new announcement, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is currently on sale with up to 45% off at select digital stores. The promotion for Xbox Series and Xbox One versions runs until October 15, and the Steam version until September 30; promotions for PS5, PS4, Switch 2, Switch, and GOG platforms will begin later.
