Over 90% of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Development Team Returns for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis!

The core development team for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth largely carries over from the previous entries. Series Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that approximately 90% to 95% of the development team came directly from the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth team.

《最终幻想VII 启示》开发团队九成以上成员来自《最终幻想VII 重生》!

Naoki Hamaguchi stated that this level of staff continuity is uncommon. Typically, development teams disband after a project is completed, with members moving on to other titles; however, in this case, the majority of the staff remained with the same team to work on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Prior to this announcement, trailers, the first screenshots of the Nintendo Switch 2 version, and details about the world, maps, and combat for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth had already been revealed. The game continues the story following Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is currently confirmed to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027.
