IGN is undergoing another round of layoffs across multiple departments, with senior hosts Brian Altano and Seth Macy both confirming their departures. Other affected employees have also gradually confirmed the news, though the exact scale of the layoffs remains unclear.

Insiders reported that the layoffs affected multiple teams within IGN. Some personnel changes may be related to remote work status and employees' reluctance to relocate, but IGN has not responded to inquiries nor released a complete list or specific headcount.

Altano has been with IGN since 2009. After Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty left, he became one of the main hosts of the PlayStation-themed podcast Beyond over a decade ago. Altano confirmed via Instagram that October 2 would be his last working day at IGN.

Seth Macy, a senior editor on the business team and regular host of the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast, has confirmed via social media platform X that his collaboration with IGN has ended.

Bo Moore, a senior executive overseeing tech news, also stated that he was affected by this round of layoffs. He mentioned that the team was focusing on covering the launch of Valve's Steam Frame headset that day; although he was only credited in one of the seven articles published that morning, he edited all of them.

The IGN Media Creators Union subsequently issued a statement, confirming that four union members and several other employees had been laid off. The statement noted that these employees had been involved in producing IGN's gaming and entertainment content for many years.

This marks another layoff at IGN in recent months. Previously, a group of employees, including several engineers, departed shortly after the conclusion of the IGN Live event. Since Ziff Davis, IGN's parent company, acquired gaming sites such as Eurogamer and Rock Paper Shotgun in 2024, there have been multiple personnel adjustments within its editorial teams.
