A Star Wars 15th-anniversary re-release poster bearing the signatures of 11 cast members is set to go up for auction in October. Auction house Prop Store has provided an estimated value range of $9,500 to $19,000.
This “Style B” one-sheet poster was produced by Killian Enterprises in 1992 to coincide with the 15th-anniversary re-release of Star Wars. The artwork features illustrations by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, but the design was not created specifically for the 1992 re-release; rather, it originated from an unused concept during the film’s initial theatrical run in 1977.
All 11 signatures on the poster have been authenticated. Signatories include principal cast members such as Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Also among them are Kenny Baker, who portrayed R2-D2; Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca; and David Prowse, the primary on-screen performer for Darth Vader.
Paul Blake, who portrayed Greedo, added the inscription “Han shot first, OK!” next to his signature. With several signatories—including Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and David Prowse—now deceased, this poster has become a rare autographed collectible that is unlikely to be replicated.
The lot carries a low estimate of $9,500 and a high estimate of $19,000. The final sale price will be revealed at Prop Store’s live auction for collectible posters in October.
