Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release its final round of Zombies mode updates. Treyarch Design Director Kevin Drew hinted in a developer showcase that the studio is ready to try new directions players have never experienced before, though specific plans have not yet been announced.
Drew described this finale as a "bittersweet farewell" at the end of the showcase. He stated that the team has learned a lot over the past two years and experimented with different content, and is now ready to create something no one has experienced before. Treyarch also expressed gratitude to the player community that has supported the team for the past two years.
These remarks did not confirm how the Zombies mode will be adjusted in the next installment. Whether there will be changes to the story, characters, mechanics, or core systems remains unclear, and relevant information may only be revealed after Treyarch announces its next game. It is also unconfirmed whether the studio will participate in developing the Zombies mode for the next title.
Season 6 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch on September 17, 2026, adding a new survival map called "Tenshu" to the Zombies mode. Players must fight off hellhounds, ghosts, and hordes of zombies within a limited area.
This update will also add a new mode set in the starting room of the "Rex Infernum" map. Players must survive within this initial building using limited resources. The map will also include a guided mode that provides step-by-step hints for completing Easter eggs, with a cap of 15 rounds.
For players who have completed all main story missions in the round-based Zombies maps of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the "Super Easter Egg" will also be available in Season 6. Completing the challenge will reward players with Operator "The Warden" and other prizes. With this content launch, new content for the game's Zombies mode will temporarily come to an end.
