Featherweight Games announced that the action Roguelike game "Chained Beasts" will officially launch at 1:00 AM on October 16, available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The game supports 1 to 4 players and will be included in Xbox and Windows PC Game Pass at launch.
The game centers on cooperation between gladiators. Players are chained together with up to three friends and must fight together in chaotic arenas, using the chains connecting their teammates and the environment to defeat enemies.
The full version includes three arena chapters. Players will start in Carthage, then travel to the frozen wastelands of Germania, and finally enter the heart of the Roman Empire for the final battle in Rome. The release date trailer released simultaneously showcases the final Rome chapter.
Co-director Dylan Bevis stated that after two years of development, the team has finally confirmed that the game will launch on home consoles. He also thanked players for their feedback during the recent public test weekend, as well as for their long-term support of the demo and assistance with testing.
Dylan Bevis also revealed that the boss of the Rome chapter will be the most powerful enemy in the game so far, and the team hopes to see different teams use the chain mechanic to find ways to defeat it.
Currently, the demo for "Chained Beasts" is available for download on Steam, featuring the Carthage chapter. This demo will be removed upon the game's official release.
