It has been a year since the release of Dying Light: The Beast, and players continue to search for Easter eggs and hidden content. Game Director Nathan Lemaire believes that all existing secrets have likely been discovered, though he admits that he may not know every secret in the game himself.
Commenting on players' exploration achievements, Lemaire said, "I think so, I feel like Everythinggj has been found. But honestly, I'm not sure if I know Everythinggj myself." He then reaffirmed his assessment that players have uncovered all the secrets in the game.
The game launched in September 2025, featuring numerous Easter eggs and hidden content, including details tied to the series' lore, special weapons, and hidden characters. Since its release, players have begun searching the map for clues and experimenting with different triggers.
One of the more complex secrets requires players to collect inconspicuous branches along the river and combine them to unlock a hidden safe zone. After sleeping in this area, players encounter a zombified "Bober" character. Another secret involves knocking on a locker 77 times; opening the door reveals a unique weapon.
Lemaire also reviewed the updates released after launch. Dying Light: The Beast gradually added New Game+ and Legend Levels, while recent updates introduced zombie hordes that do not respawn, allowing players to progressively clear the map of undead.
This design was developed after the game's release. Lemaire stated that the team wanted to experiment with more survival-oriented gameplay and strengthen the connection between content, protagonist Kyle Crane, and the loot system. Prototype testing quickly revealed the potential for permanently clearing areas, leading to further refinement of the mechanic.
