On September 17, Ubisoft released a free anniversary update for Prince of Persia: The Rogue, adding Race, Parkour, Daily Challenges, and Combat Zones, along with new weapons, animal companions, and gameplay mechanics.
This update adds Race, Time Trial, and Parkour modes. Races and Time Trials feature built-in timers, primarily testing players' route selection, speed, and optimization skills; Parkour mode further emphasizes wall-running, route planning, and agile movement.
The new "Daily Awakening" system offers rotating daily challenges, each with specific modifiers and completion requirements. Players must adapt their strategies to the rules, completing challenges under ever-changing level conditions to progress.
The update also introduces trials scattered across different ecological zones. These trials feature a risk-versus-reward design, offering legendary loot upon completing advanced challenges. Additionally, the game includes more high-difficulty puzzles and combat rooms.
In terms of combat, new areas will pit players against enemies of gradually increasing strength. New mechanics allow players to freeze or slow down enemies, providing more tools to handle hordes; slingshot weapons and new trap tools also debut in this update.
Animal companions have now joined the game, providing unique support during exploration and combat. All of the above content is included in this free anniversary update.
