Capcom has announced the results of the official poll celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. Leon S. Kennedy topped the list as the most popular hero, while Albert Wesker was named the most popular villain.
The "Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Poll" was held on the Resident Evil Portal from July 15 to 29, 2026, and was open only to users registered in the Resident Evil Ambassadors program.
The poll featured multiple categories, allowing participants to vote for their favorite series games, heroes, villains, monsters, weapons, and memorable moments, among other awards.
In the character rankings, Jill Valentine was voted the most popular female character in the series. Ada Wong ranked higher than Claire Redfield and Ethan Winters. Albert Wesker led the villain list, with new character Zeno also making it into the top ten.
Candidates spanned the entire Resident Evil series, including early titles from the 1990s as well as newer entries such as Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The full results will be published in the September 2026 anniversary special edition, "Nikkei Entertainment! BIOHAZARD 30th Special."
