Xbox's latest Free Play Days event is now live, offering temporary free access to Sea of Thieves and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam until September 20. The participation requirements differ for each game: Sea of Thieves is available to all Xbox users, while Hell Let Loose: Vietnam requires an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Developed by Rare, Sea of Thieves is set in an open-world pirate adventure. Players can sail ships to explore islands, hunt for treasure, and engage enemies, while also cooperating with teammates to manage their vessel and complete various missions. The game includes both PvE activities and PvP battles between crews.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, developed by Expression Games, is a large-scale tactical PvP shooter released on August 13, 2026. Set during the Vietnam War, the game features up to 50 players per side, allowing participants to choose from specialized roles such as infantry, scouts, armored vehicle crew, and mortar teams.
The game also features distinct tactical abilities for each side. US forces can utilize helicopters to transport troops, provide support, and deliver supplies, while North Vietnamese forces can construct underground tunnels for covert movement and surprise attacks.
The free trials for both games will end on September 20, after which access will revert to standard purchase or subscription models. During the free-to-play period, both titles will also feature special discounts.
