The film lineup for Phase Seven of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may include nine titles. Leaker James Mack claims that it will feature five solo character films and four team-up films, the latter including one Avengers event movie.
Under the current arrangement, Phase Seven will begin after Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios has already started unveiling content for the next era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con, with the first batch of new films planned to hit theaters starting in 2028.
James Mack stated that these nine films represent the current plan for the first phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's next chapter. However, since Marvel Studios has not officially released the full lineup, the total number of films, project composition, and specific scheduling should still be subject to future official announcements.
Three Phase Seven films have currently been confirmed: a new X-Men film directed by Jake Schreier (director of Thunderbolts*), a new Ghost Rider film starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Shawn Levy (director of Deadpool & Wolverine), and Black Panther 3 directed by Ryan Coogler.
If the news about nine films is accurate, there are six slots left in the lineup besides the aforementioned titles. At a pace of three films per year, Phase Seven could span from 2028 to 2030, but this timeline is merely an estimate based on the number of films; Marvel Studios has not yet announced plans for Phase Eight.
Before the full lineup is revealed, the remaining projects remain largely rumors and fan speculation. Titles such as Spider-Man 5, a Fantastic Four sequel, Doctor Strange 3, Shang-Chi 2, and Nova are listed as potential candidates, while team projects like Champions/Young Avengers, Midnight Sons, and X-Force are also under discussion, though none have been confirmed as part of Phase Seven.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe will next see the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Three films have been confirmed for Phase Seven, scheduled for 2028, while the remaining projects and release dates are yet to be officially announced by Marvel Studios.
