Recently, the daughter of a patient with late-stage lung cancer sought help from Rockstar, hoping her father could get an early trial of GTA 6 in his final days. The related post has since been deleted, and Rockstar has not yet publicly responded to this request.
The daughter posted a request for help on the Rockstar Games-related Reddit community, hoping to reach out to company employees through it. She stated that her father had been diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, with doctors predicting he had only weeks left to live, and he had already returned home to receive hospice care.
In her post, she mentioned that her father had invested thousands of hours in recent GTA titles and had specifically purchased a PS5 in preparation for playing GTA 6. Therefore, she hoped Rockstar could provide an opportunity to experience the game before its official release.
The post was subsequently deleted by community moderators, but players in the comments section attempted to offer assistance. Some suggested she share her father's situation on other platforms or contact GTA content creators. Others provided Rockstar's PR email address and official website contact page, hoping she could directly reach company employees.
In January this year, Ubisoft employee Anthony Armstrong also contacted Rockstar on behalf of a terminally ill family member, hoping they would allow an early experience of GTA 6 under a non-disclosure agreement. Armstrong later stated that he received "good news" from Rockstar but did not disclose specific arrangements, so the final outcome remains unconfirmed.
Some players pointed out that even if Rockstar agrees to this request, the arrangements may not be made public due to privacy or confidentiality requirements. As of now, the company has not issued a public response to the daughter's plea.
