Lisa Treats Mom to Sushi and Asks Situational Boyfriend to Pay, Gets Rejected on the Spot

BLACKPINK member Lisa recently shared an anecdote about a past romantic interest on host Jake Shane's podcast, Therapuss. She had invited the person she was seeing to cover the sushi bill for herself, her mother, and her friend, but he declined on the spot, leaving her to foot the bill.

Lisa recounted that she, along with her mother and a close friend, visited her favorite sushi restaurant. During the meal, she half-jokingly asked if he would be willing to cover the bill for the group, to which he promptly replied, "No." She initially assumed it was also a joke and hoped he might secretly settle the bill as a surprise, but by the end of the meal, nothing happened.

She emphasized that she doesn't expect men to pay for every date and is capable of covering her own expenses. What bothered her was that her mother and close friend were present at the time. In her view, if he had offered to pay, it would have demonstrated his regard and willingness to invest in the relationship. Jake Shane suggested that if a man is pursuing someone, such a gesture might show greater sincerity.

This post sparked differing opinions. Some believe that offering to pay when dining with elders during the courting phase shows more thoughtfulness, while others argue that the other party had no obligation to cover the meal for Lisa and her friends. The controversy highlights a mismatch in expectations regarding dating and financial etiquette.
