"Fire Emblem: Threads of Fate" Receives Acclaim as Switch 2 Exclusive Lineup Continues to Expand

Switch 2 has recently seen a string of well-received exclusive releases. The new title Fire Emblem: Threads of Fate achieved an aggregate score of 89 on OpenCritic, making it one of the highest-rated new releases of the year and further expanding the console's exclusive lineup.

Fire Emblem: Threads of Fate is exclusive to Switch 2. The console's launch lineup previously included third-party titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and the exclusive Mario Kart World, followed by Donkey Kong Bananza, which received Game of the Year nominations.

Nintendo's upcoming release schedule includes Fire Emblem: Threads of Fate and Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort Destination in October, followed by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered in November. The second DLC for Pokémon Pokopia is expected to launch within the year. Twilight Bloodline, a Switch 2 exclusive developed by FromSoftware but not published by Nintendo, is also rumored to be released in the coming months.

Among the confirmed 2027 lineup, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is scheduled to launch in January, followed by the open-world titles Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Xenoblade Chronicles: Genesis, and Pokémon: Wind/Wave. Nintendo has not yet revealed its full slate of new releases for 2027.

Switch 2 still lacks a dedicated 3D Super Mario title. Rumors suggest that a 3D Super Mario game for the console may arrive in late 2027, but this has not been officially confirmed.
