Seita Inoue, producer of "Splatoon: Paint Strike Team," confirmed that there are currently no plans to release DLC or other post-launch content for the game. The game will also not undergo continuous balance adjustments like previous entries in the series.
In an interview with Famitsu, Seita Inoue discussed player expectations for post-launch content. He stated that the team currently has no plans for post-release support, so players should not expect DLC for this Nintendo Switch 2 title; the existing content represents the full scope of the current plan.
"Splatoon: Paint Strike Team" launched on Nintendo Switch 2 earlier in 2026 and is the first spin-off title in Nintendo's "Splatoon" series. While the series previously focused on competitive multiplayer gameplay, this entry primarily revolves around a cooperative campaign.
However, the game is not completely off-limits to updates. Seita Inoue mentioned that if major bugs are discovered, the team may still release patches to fix them; beyond that, there are no arrangements to add new content or perform regular maintenance. Nevertheless, he subtly hinted in the interview that Splatoon 4 is confirmed to be in development.
