Wardogs Season 2 Expected in Three Weeks with New Content and Balance Adjustments

Bulkhead plans to launch Season 2 of Wardogs in approximately three weeks. The new season will introduce a wealth of new content and adjustments, including features that were cut to meet the Early Access release deadline, which will be gradually implemented.

Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer revealed that he has already played the development build of Season 2. The team originally planned to release this season about a month after launch, and based on the current schedule, there are roughly three weeks left until the update. Work on Season 3 has also begun.

Brammer stated that the development team received a large volume of feedback and data within the first week of the game's launch and has already identified numerous issues. He invited players to suggest the single change they would most like to see prioritized in Season 1, while emphasizing that although the team will stick to its design direction, player opinions will still be taken into consideration.

Vehicles are one of the areas the team has confirmed need improvement. Brammer bluntly stated that Bulkhead is not satisfied with the current state of vehicles. However, the developer had previously indicated that it would not significantly expand the variety of maps, vehicles, and weapons during the Early Access phase.

Balance among the three factions is also an issue. Current data shows that the Green team wins most often, with Green and Red performing relatively similarly, while the Blue team is clearly at a disadvantage. Similar issues were present even during the pre-alpha testing phase.

Brammer acknowledged that the map layout might be one of the reasons why the Blue team is lagging behind, as the towers near their spawn are located at a lower elevation. However, Bulkhead is not currently considering a temporary solution of randomly assigning team spawn points each match, though some initial improvements may be rolled out before the start of Season 2.

Wardogs currently boasts hundreds of thousands of concurrent players on Steam. Regarding claims that its launch performance surpassed ARC Raiders and Helldivers 2, Brammer believes this momentum will not be sustained long-term, noting that both titles, with their PvE elements, offer more lasting appeal.
