An early concept map for Grand Theft Auto VI has been ported into Grand Theft Auto V and is currently runnable on the PC version. These map assets are reportedly created between 2014 and 2015 and may differ significantly from the game's final version.
The assets used for this port come from a batch of leaked files, which include early map resources and source code-related content. There are varying accounts regarding the size of these files, with public information citing both 192GB and approximately 200GB; the related materials are said to date back to the Rockstar file leak incident in 2022.
Judging from the available footage, this map is still in a very rough conceptual stage. The urban areas only roughly approximate the previously released Grand Theft Auto VI visuals in their general outlines, with roads and terrain textures unfinished, resulting in an overall effect similar to simplified 3D models in mapping services.
The map also retains floating text labels used to mark locations envisioned at the time. Due to the age of the assets, these areas and markers should not be considered part of the final map content; the official version may add, adjust, or remove certain locations during subsequent development.
What can be confirmed at this stage is that this early map has been modified to run within the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. It presents an early-stage map concept from development, not the complete picture of the final Grand Theft Auto VI map.
Related leaked information also claims that the final map size of Grand Theft Auto VI could be twice that of Grand Theft Auto V and approximately three times that of Red Dead Redemption 2, but these figures have not been officially confirmed by Rockstar.
