A batch of approximately 192GB of old leaked Rockstar data is spreading online, featuring early map assets for Grand Theft Auto VI, as well as canceled content such as the Liberty City expansion for GTA V, single-player DLCs, and alternative endings. These files do not stem from a new security incident but are reportedly traced back to the data breach Rockstar suffered in 2022.
People are still continuing to organize these files. Early Grand Theft Auto VI map assets released by community user TJGM resemble some scenes shown in the game's trailer, but the related visuals use very low-resolution rendering. The existing materials only reflect content from the early development stage.
Canceled content from GTA V makes up the majority of this disclosure. One file named "dlcliberty_game.date151.rel," when imported into the map editing tool CodeWalker, reveals the outline of what appears to be a Liberty City map expansion. This file is typically used to divide game map areas, and a terrain test file was also found within the same batch of data.
The files also contain partial assets from the canceled single-player DLC "Agent Trevor," including a spaceship scene, spacesuits, and Franklin appearing in an Arabian-style mansion with a large underground area. Some mission names were also revealed, and certain indoor scenes appear to have been adjusted and reused for other content.
Another leaked dialogue snippet involves an early version of Trevor's death ending. In this design, Trevor was originally meant to crash into a liquid nitrogen tank, freezing and shattering his body, whereas the final version uses an oil tanker. The files also contain cut dialogue between GTA IV character Brucie and Franklin, indicating that the former might have once appeared in GTA V's single-player content to provide missions.
Other materials involve additional canceled missions, some vehicles, and content related to Michael appearing in the "Undead Nightmare" mode. The relevant files reportedly circulated among only a few people for a long time after the 2022 leak, gradually expanding their reach in recent months before entering the public internet.
