Reports indicate that Netflix is developing a series based on Atlus's Persona role-playing game franchise, with the project currently in the development stage. Story Kitchen and 21 Laps will participate in production, and Christopher Monfette has been confirmed as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
Story Kitchen previously collaborated with Sega on the Sonic the Hedgehog film series; 21 Laps was founded by Shawn Levy. Levy has been involved in film and television productions such as Deadpool & Wolverine, Free Guy, and Stranger Things.
Monfette previously served as a writer or producer for series such as Star Trek: Picard, 12 Monkeys, and 9-1-1, and is currently involved in WandaVision, which Marvel Television is preparing for Disney+.
Netflix has been continuously expanding its game adaptation content in recent years, having released the League of Legends animated series Arcane, as well as animated works adapted from Castlevania, Cyberpunk 2077, Devil May Cry, and Tomb Raider. In terms of film adaptations, projects for Gears of War and BioShock are still in production.
