During the 2026 PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, the first-person shooter Beautiful Freaks of the Desert was announced, scheduled for release in Q4 2026. The game will feature 50 short levels connected by an explorable desert hub.
This approximately 50-second trailer primarily showcases fast-paced shooting, run-and-gun combat, and striking title cards interspersed throughout. Set in a future where competing tech corporations are locked in seemingly endless warfare, the trailer also features anti-data center messaging.
The game adopts a minimalist visual style, with its run-and-gun shooter gameplay reminiscent of Neon White, while also incorporating elements from retro shooters. The trailer's gritty visuals and playful tone bear similarities to Cruelty Squad, though this title focuses more on platforming and gunfights rather than immersive simulation mechanics.
In terms of weapons, the game will offer six different weapon systems, requiring players to use a variety of arms to combat enemies such as spiders. The levels are relatively small in scale, while the open-world desert connecting them allows players to explore on foot or by bicycle.
