Australian indie studio Qloud Games has announced that the life simulation MMO "Loftia" (tentative translation) will enter Early Access on November 3, supporting PC and Mac via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Rather than focusing on combat, the game centers on cooperation, creation, and sustainable living, allowing players to jointly build a shared world.
The game is set in a world of floating islands. Players can settle down, grow crops, rescue animals, explore with friends, and participate in construction projects that impact their community. Unlike traditional MMOs that focus on combat, progression, and competition, this title emphasizes collaborative progress.
"Loftia" has been in development for four years. It previously garnered around 17,000 supporters on Kickstarter, raising $1.3 million, and saw 25,000 participants in its closed Beta test this April. Feedback from players during the Alpha and Beta tests has already influenced content such as farming, character customization, and social features.
The game has a base price of $29.99, with a 17% launch discount bringing it down to $24.89. This release is an Early Access version, and development will continue.
In multiplayer mode, players can live in the same neighborhood and collaborate on large-scale projects. Renewable energy, hydroponics, recycling, and ecological systems will also be integrated into community building. Cooperative activities replace traditional MMO combat with timed challenges such as platforming, puzzle-solving, and exploration.
The game was named Most Anticipated Game at the 2026 Cozy Game Awards this May. Qloud Games plans to continue adding regions, events, stories, social features, and community-driven content during Early Access, stating that player feedback will remain a crucial basis for future development.
