Splatoon Squads producer Seita Inoue confirmed that the team currently has no plans to release post-launch DLC or updates, and will only consider issuing patches for critical issues. As the series' first purely single-player title, it was developed with the goal of delivering a complete experience in the base game.
Since the series began on the Wii U, continuously adding post-launch content has been a hallmark of Splatoon. Previous titles regularly introduced new maps, weapons, and customization options after release, but Splatoon Squads currently has no such plans.
In an interview with Famitsu covering the core development team, Seita Inoue addressed the possibility of DLC. He stated that while other entries in the series evolved through updates and additional content, this title aims to provide a complete experience from the start, so the team currently has neither DLC nor balance-affecting updates planned.
This statement addresses the current arrangements and does not rule out future adjustments to the plan. Seita Inoue also clarified that if serious bugs requiring attention emerge, the team would still consider releasing fixes via updates.
