Neon Abyss 2 will conclude its Early Access period and launch its full version on October 8, 2026, introducing a new final boss, "The Goddess of Vanity," Theia. The game revealed its release date trailer at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026, showcasing the new boss and four-player co-op combat.
The original Neon Abyss was released in 2020, combining run-and-gun shooting with Roguelike elements, featuring vibrant colors, intense combat, and diverse build options. The sequel is currently in Early Access, allowing players to team up with up to three friends.
The new trailer reveals Theia near the end, attacking players with rainbow beams from her eyes. The developers introduced this boss as a fusion of shattered mirrors, sharp gems, and bright neon halos, with the fight divided into three phases.
The development team stated that each of Theia's three phases features intense flashes and shattering sound effects, designed to disorient agents. These visual and audio effects are also part of the boss battle.
The trailer also showcases several clips of four-player co-op combat, along with weapons and abilities players can use. Beyond combat, the video features fishing, beach sports, basketball, and mini-games similar to Bejeweled.
One fishing scene shows the player earning 365 points after catching a large fish. Neon Abyss 2 is currently available in Early Access on Steam, with the full release scheduled for October 8.
