As the Tokyo Game Show is in full swing, Devolver Digital has arrived with a batch of new announcements. Four stylistically diverse new games and expansions were revealed consecutively, ranging from pinballs flying everywhere and zombies rampaging through Miami to mysterious fungi and androids. This autumn, Devolver Digital's lineup remains powerful and "outrageous."
First up is Ball x Pit, along with its largest and most content-rich expansion pack to date—Ball x Pit: Risen Ballbylon.
This time, the elevator doesn't go all the way down; instead, it takes players high into the sky to explore the floating "Risen Ballbylon." The expansion brings 4 new battlefields, over 40 types of enemies, 45 passive effects, 8 new characters, 24 new balls, and 20 base buildings, while also introducing new game mechanics to provide fresh challenges and build possibilities for fans familiar with Ball x Pit.
Ball x Pit: Risen Ballbylon will launch on PC, consoles, and mobile devices on November 13 (Beijing Time), priced at 29 CNY.
If Ball x Pit sent players into the sky, then the next game brings them back to a city spiraling out of control.
Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero is a free major expansion that takes the story back to where it all began—sunny yet storm-ravaged Miami. In the early stages of the outbreak, players will face new characters, an evolving virus, and increasingly inexplicable truths about the infection.
To survive, you'll need to recruit survivors, repair a luxury yacht, and find the last hope for everyone to escape the city. Of course, when facing the infected, you can also take some more... apocalyptic measures, like feeding them to sharks.
Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero will launch for free on PC and Xbox Series S|X on October 16 (Beijing Time). All players who own the base game can receive this expansion for free.
And if you're tired of ordinary sci-fi weapons, Mycopunk might offer some crazier choices.
This squad-based co-op shooter will conclude its Steam Early Access and officially launch version 1.0 on October 21 (Beijing Time). Players will head to the surface of New Atlas's moon to combat the mysterious fungal threat running rampant, utilizing a unique grid-based upgrade system to freely modify weapons and craft their own sci-fi superweapons.
Version 1.0 will also add new firearms, grenades, game modes, maps, characters, and one crucial new feature—hats. Mycopunk 1.0 will launch on PlayStation 5. PS5 players can enjoy the game via PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium.
Last but not least is a narrative adventure game with a rather unique therapeutic approach—Virtue and a Sledgehammer.
Most people choose psychotherapy when dealing with issues from their past; in this game, you choose a sledgehammer.
Players will return to the town once called home, wielding a sledgehammer to demolish buildings and crush machines, confronting ghosts of the past regarding family, tradition, fear, and desire amidst the ruins. This destructive narrative experience, crafted by Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour, will allow players to gradually uncover the stories hidden beneath the town by "smashing things."
Virtue and a Sledgehammer will launch on PC on October 28 (Beijing Time).
