Walmart has lowered the pre-order price for the physical edition of Metroid Dread from $70 to $59.88, a discount of about $10. This newly announced entry in the Metroid series will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2027.
This discount applies to the physical edition, bringing its price in line with the digital version on the Nintendo eShop. Players opting for the physical copy can currently pre-order the game at a price close to that of the digital edition.
Walmart has offered similar discounts on several Switch 2 titles in recent months, and Metroid Dread follows this trend. However, this pre-order discount may not last until the game's release.
Previously, some Switch 2 games saw their Walmart prices return to the standard $70 or $80 after launch. It remains uncertain whether Metroid Dread will also revert to its original price upon release.
Metroid Dread is planned to be Nintendo's first major release of 2027, with few gameplay demos and story details revealed so far.
