Moogle House will return in the trilogy's final chapter, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, but the Moogles within will bid farewell to their merchant roles and attempt to form a small pop idol group. Game Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed this change.
In Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Moogle House is a standalone minigame. Cloud must enter specific areas, navigate obstacles, and herd runaway Moogles back into place. The development team recognizes that not all players enjoy this activity.
Naoki Hamaguchi stated that the game includes many different types of minigames, and each player has their own preferences. Some players prefer to focus on the RPG's combat elements, so they may view additional activities like Moogle House as distractions.
As a result, the development team retained Moogle House in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth while redesigning its content. The Moogle previously responsible for commerce will switch jobs and attempt to form their own idol group.
The team also took player feedback on the original minigame into account. Hamaguchi stated that the related gameplay in the third installment will be more accessible, as developers hope to improve upon aspects that previously dissatisfied some players.
Hamaguchi has not yet revealed exactly how the Moogles will form their group or how this change will be integrated into the game. What can be confirmed at this stage is that Moogles will still appear in the final chapter of the trilogy, with changes to their profession and the Moogle House gameplay.
