YouTube creator Turned found two out-of-bounds routes in Marvel's Wolverine, making his way to the edge of the map. The entire process requires no complex maneuvers; Logan simply needs to climb an unremarkable building or jump over a parked truck to leave the normal mission area.
The following content contains spoilers for mission scenes. The first video was recorded during the "The One That Got Away" mission, where Turned climbed up the exterior wall of a building and subsequently entered an area far larger than the linear path dictated by the story.
This area retains various signs of incomplete development, including trees suspended in mid-air, ground that leads beneath the map, and broken collision volumes. As Turned pressed forward, he reached the end of the scene, where the ground abruptly terminates in a neat square edge.
The second video showcases the out-of-bounds process in the Japanese environment. After Logan climbs over a parked truck and leaves the mission area, the game does not trigger an automatic return to the checkpoint. Vehicles within the area pass directly through walls, continuing in a straight line until they disappear, while nearby pedestrians do not react to this.
Turned also inspected residences lacking interior furnishings, discovering floating NPCs and characters stuck in T-poses. Compared to the areas surrounding missions, some backend regions of the Japanese setting actually feature more detail, including food districts and shops with accessible interiors. One player speculated that the game's initial map scale might have been larger, but the existing videos alone cannot prove that these areas corresponded to officially cut content.
Similar map boundary breaches have appeared in major titles like Red Desert and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. TT Games developer Tim Spencer addressed such issues, noting that the testing department likely identified the bugs, but they may have been deprioritized in the pre-release defect ranking, left to be addressed in subsequent patches.
Insomniac stated earlier this week that it would continue adjusting the gameplay experience based on feedback. Some players also hope to completely disable the trail effect that helps Logan track targets by scent; the studio has clarified that this effect is not always active.
