"Nobunaga's Ambition: Soaring" TGS Demo Opens Story Mode and Showcases Two Core Systems

Nobunaga's Ambition: Soaring offered a PC demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Players could experience the opening content of either the Main Mode or Story Mode and interact with the two core systems: "Just Cause" and "Town-Building Administration." The Story Mode follows Oda Nobunaga's life while serving as a tutorial for Sengoku period knowledge and game mechanics.

This demo was available during the business days of the Tokyo Game Show on September 19, allowing players to choose between two modes and play through the introductory segment lasting several tens of minutes. The Story Mode features numerous dialogue events involving Oda Nobunaga and those around him, displaying names, titles, and affiliations upon characters' first appearances to help players unfamiliar with Sengoku history understand the plot.

The story begins with an episode from Oda Nobunaga's youth. After Shiba Yoshimune, the Shugo of Owari, was defeated, Nobunaga launched a campaign against Sakai Daizen in place of Yoshimune's son, Shiba Yoshikane. Leveraging this situation, players can establish the "Just Cause" of "Avenging a Wrong," which strengthens their forces before battle.

"Just Causes" are established based on conditions such as a general's circumstances and can be activated once requirements are met, providing various bonuses. Even for the same general, their available "Just Causes" change as their age and situation evolve. The demo's battles also retain the "Pincer Attack" mechanic, which activates when attacking enemy forces from two directions.

After completing the revenge campaign, the story shifts back to an earlier time, depicting events such as Oda Nobuhide's funeral. Hirate Masahide later departs, disappointed by Nobunaga's behavior, leaving the player to manage Nagoya Castle's domestic affairs and begin the "Town-Building Administration" tutorial under Nohime's guidance.

Players can freely choose locations to build farmlands, commercial facilities, and barracks, then advance time to increase income, food supplies, and maximum troop capacity to specified levels. Nagoya Castle has ample flat land, allowing for flexible facility placement; however, construction sites affect income, with the demo marking suitable locations in red.

The demo lasts several tens of minutes and concludes after completing one town-building cycle. Nobunaga's Ambition: Soaring is scheduled for release this winter on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, supporting Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.
