According to the latest statement from renowned leaker Kopite7kimi, NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce gaming graphics cards have been delayed again. The GR20x gaming GPU family, based on the Rubin architecture, will be postponed from its original second-half-of-2027 release window to 2028.
GR20x is believed to be NVIDIA's gaming GPU family built on the Rubin architecture, which will also form the future GeForce RTX 60 series. It should be noted that NVIDIA has not yet officially announced its consumer-grade Rubin product line, naming scheme, or release date; all of this remains in the realm of leaks.
Reportedly, Kopite7kimi is well-known for leaking NVIDIA product information months in advance. This time, he was quite direct about the change in schedule: "Unfortunately, GR20x is a 2028 product, meaning they have delayed it once again."
He also stated that further updates will be reduced until more concrete information becomes available. It is worth noting that he was also the first to leak the initial specifications for the RTX 50 SUPER, a product that was ultimately delayed as well.
Looking back at the timeline, Kopite7kimi had previously referred to GR20x as NVIDIA's gaming-oriented Rubin family and provided a "second half of 2027" release window, which was the most definitive information available at the time regarding NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce graphics cards.
This leak also corroborates another report from earlier this week. Leaker Kepler_L2 claimed at the time that NVIDIA's next-generation gaming GPUs and most of AMD's next-generation discrete GPU lineup had been postponed to 2028.
However, at the time of Kepler_L2's leak, Kopite7kimi had not confirmed whether his previously mentioned 2027 timeline had also changed. Now, their statements have officially aligned.
