Recently, Xbox head Asha Sharma stated that Minecraft sees over 300,000 new players every day on average. The game has been out for more than 17 years and continues to welcome new players.
Sharma revealed these figures in a social media post reflecting on the recent Minecraft live event. She also stated that the game's cumulative sales have exceeded 425 million copies since its launch.
The same post also mentioned that Minecraft features its first new dimension in over 14 years, new building tools for creators, and details about the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Minecraft Java Edition is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux devices; Bedrock Edition also supports Windows and Chromebooks. Console platforms include Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, and various Nintendo Switch models.
In addition to consoles and PCs, players can enjoy Minecraft on iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire devices. A dedicated version of the game is also available for the Nintendo Switch 2.
